The essentials
- A car seat, installed correctly
- A safe place to sleep: a crib or bassinet with a firm, flat mattress and a fitted sheet
- Diapers, wipes and a changing spot
- Clothes and a few blankets for swaddling
- Feeding supplies
Wait and see
Many items are nice to have but not needed at first. Wait until you know your baby's routine before buying more.
